ADD+VANTAGE MODULES

Each module has five session covering lesson planning, teaching theory and pedagogy, understanding learning, differentiation, skill assessment, and development planning to help you prepare for placement and complete the assessment too. We pay for your Enhanced DBS and arrange your placement in Coventry (students can arrange their own placement).

A102CSU

Our level one module requires students to complete a 20-hour placement supporting children with their literacy. Based in a Primary School, you will be working with children one-on-one to encourage children to read and use activities to make it a fun experience.

Placement example:

Sophie, an Illustration and Fine Art student, worked within a local Primary School to get experience with young children for her future as a book illustrator. Paired with a child who struggled with literacy, Sophie created fun games with her pupil to use whilst reading. Both Sophie and the pupil had a lot of fun creating these wordsearches, and comic strips.

A202CSU

This level two module requires students to complete a 20-hour project in either a Primary or Secondary School. Students will be working within their chosen subject (Secondary) or age group (Primary) to support the teacher and ignite pupil enthusiasm for the topic.

Placement example:

As a Biomedical Science student and future science teacher Ash worked with the Physics department to get a better understanding of the pressures of teaching. They helped set up the classroom, supported the pupils in their learning, working understanding of the National Curriculum, as well as assisting with marking.

A302CSU

Students can choose whether to complete a 20-hour project in a Primary or Secondary School in their chosen subject (Secondary) or age group (Primary). Working with the teacher, you will be helping small pupil groups with classroom activities to support their learning.

Placement example:

Hollie worked in the Languages Department of a Secondary School supporting the French teacher with classes. As she felt more confident she created games to be used alongside the teachers lesson which were used in small groups to great success.
